The Prototype and FAQ

Content Warning: S.A.

VenusGuard is a revolutionary and patented self defense device for the battle against penetrative r-pe.

‍ ‍The product goal is subsequent identification of the assailant.

It is a way for users to say “Not today,” and assure themselves access to evidence if they are not listened to and assaulted.

It is the only device of its kind.

We ask of you to please read this entire page carefully, to understand all of the extensive thought and effort that has gone into this project.

How It Works…

The VenusGuard system consists of a stretchy and malleable yet cut resistant silicone sheath that contains a web of uncuttable barbs on the inside.

The user inserts the device into their v-gina with the included applicator, similarly to how one would insert a tampon. The device will be packaged in a sterile plastic, similar to that of a tampon as well.

After insertion, the presence of a VenusGuard is not apparent externally, and there is no discomfort for the user while it is worn.

‍ ‍It cannot cause injury to the woman.‍ ‍

We have relentlessly designed and tested the product to make sure that no harm can be done to the user when inserted or removed. The VenusGuard can be removed by the user with the applicator when she feels it is no longer necessary to be worn as a protective device.

If a r-pist attempts to penetrate a VenusGuard user, they will enter the VenusGuard device. Upon the first withdrawal, the barbs attach themselves onto the skin of the p-nis, and pulls the VenusGuard device out of the v-gina. The device is physically attached to the p-nis much like a “Chinese finger trap”.

The r-pist is almost fully incapacitated by the pain caused by the embedded barbs.  This has been described “as if the p-nis had been caught in four zippers all the way around”. Any further movement will drive the barbs deeper into the attacker’s flesh. The men which have helped us in testing our product have testified that the pain was unbearable, that it was very difficult to move, and impossible to focus on anything besides asking for help to get it removed.

The victim can use this time to escape or fight back.

‍ ‍The device cannot be removed or manipulated by the attacker. It can only be removed by a clinician in a hospital setting.

This results in the positive identification of the attacker, and can aid in his subsequent arrest and conviction. The removed device can be used to match the DNA of the attacker and victim to provide evidence in court.

Attempting to pull off the device will drive the hooks further into the attacker. If the r-pist seeks medical help immediately, no long term harm is done to his p-nis.

Secondary to an automatic consequence for nonconsensual penetration, immediate acquisition of evidence is a major cornerstone of why VenusGuard is so revolutionary.

‍ ‍Although it is not and should not be responsibility of women to defend themselves, many of us refuse to wait on criminals to stop committing crime.

We understand that crime is not a monolith. We cannot prevent or defend against every last offender premeditation, but VenusGuard is a step in the right direction to at the very least make r-pe less common.

If you are still struggling to understand the idea, here is a link to a video mock demonstration made by our inventors. We are working on subtler, animated video demonstrations at this very moment. In this video, we show the attachment that VenusGuard makes to a silicone p-nis, and we show what happens if you forcibly remove a VenusGuard off of a carrot.

Illustrated Instructional Guide

As with any device used for the body, it is important to read the instructions for use. Here are the instructions for use of our VenusGuard prototype. This and other information will be included on a small pamphlet inside of every box when the product is sold.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will VenusGuard be available?

We have been sending out samples to women all over the world for user trials. We now need to fundraise in order to finish the extensive evaluation process required for sale to the general public. It all depends on your support. We are also actively looking for distributors. If you are in the distribution business, please reach out under our “Contact Us” page.

Can the hooks/barbs hurt the wearer after being inserted?

No. Women’s safety is our first priority, and we have designed our product to make sure that this could never happen.

The barbs are only on the interior of the device. There is a thick, protective silicone barrier much like a silicone menstrual cup. The design makes it impossible for any contact between the barbs and the woman wearing the device. The barbs are fixed on an uncuttable web of plastic ‘skeleton’ within the inside of the strong and thick silicone barrier. See the images above.

Is wearing a VenusGuard comfortable?

Yes. Comfort for the wearer was a primary concern in the design of VenusGuard. The outside is smooth and cushioned. Once the VenusGuard is in place, it should not be uncomfortable for the wearer. It has been described as feeling “no different than when using a tampon”.

How many hours can VenusGuard be inserted and worn?

VenusGuard is made of the same hypoallergenic materials as a menstrual cup. For maximum safety and cleanliness, we recommend it be removed after 12 hours and replaced with a new device.

Will VenusGuard come in multipack boxes, like tampons?

Yes. Feedback from women indicated that they would prefer 3, 10 and 30 VenusGuard units per box.

Can I insert the VenusGuard whilst menstruating?

Yes. The protective barrier on the device does not absorb liquids and will repel body fluids. VenusGuard cannot be used at the same time as a tampon is used. It should be used with a menstrual pad.

How is VenusGuard inserted and how is it removed?

The VG device comes assembled in a single use applicator and it is inserted much like a tampon.  The removal of a VenusGuard can simply be accomplished by using the removal device (the opposite end of the applicator) which is provided with each unit. See the above Instructions.

Can the VenusGuard get “lost”  inside my body?

No. The opening of cervix is far too small to ever let a VG inside of the uterus. The walls of the v-gina will hold the device in place until you decide it is time to remove it.

Can you reuse VenusGuard?

The current prototype of VenusGuard is a single use device. For maximum safety and efficiency, it is not intended for reuse.

Our brand developers are absolutely conscious of our ecological footprint. We desire to change this down the line, but this is another question regarding the medical testing that we are currently fundraising.

Where can the VenusGuard be purchased?

It will be available online, and then hopefully via local distributors and in pharmacies. Please let us know if you are interested in selling our product. The more widely available VenusGuard becomes, the more of a positive impact we can have on the world.

Doesn’t the assault still happen? How is VenusGuard preventing assault?

‍ ‍VenusGuard works by immobilizing an assailant and requiring them to report themselves to a clinician, after they have made themselves a r-pist. As a prototype, VenusGuard cannot prevent assault. It can help prevent an assault from lasting longer than initial penetration, and the sequential events that could make the offense even worse for the victim.

More than anything, VenusGuards prevents r-pists from committing crimes with no legal consequences. As many of us know, this is a seriously common tragedy worldwide. Lack of evidence and consequences is a major source of mental suffering for survivors.

However, when more people know about VenusGuard, the more that r-pists and potential offenders will be afraid and hesitate to r-pe. This is why we ask of our supporters to share our website and campaigns relentlessly, and to please stick with us while we try to make our brand more well known.

‍ ‍

What happens if an assailant becomes flaccid? What happens to a small p-nis? Won’t it fall off?

‍ ‍No. The VenusGuard device was designed to be able to adjust to a wide range of p-nis diameters, including anatomies with “smaller” sizes, or even when the p-nis is flaccid. The outer sheath is very elastic and can stretch to accommodate large p-nis diameters as well. The hard, pointed barbs project deep into the inner cavity of the VenusGuard device, ensuring the barbs penetrate deep into the shaft of the p-nis, even if it is flaccid.

The direction of the barbs are pointed inward, to allow the p-nis to enter without any obstruction, but dig in when the p-nis tries to withdraw. The harder you attempt to pull the device off, the deeper the barbs will dig in and more painful it will become. Think “Chinese finger trap”, it will close no matter the diameter. Furthermore, the outer sheath acts like a compression stocking, driving in the barbs and keeping them in contact with the p-nis at all times whether it is erect, or flaccid, or “small”.

Can’t the assailant remove VenusGuard himself by cutting it with scissors?

No. Due to the severe pain inflicted by the device, the assailant will have difficulty performing simple tasks like walking, let alone performing the delicate and skilled motions required for the removal of the device without incurring injury to himself.

Embedded within the thick elastic silicone protective sheath, is a web of hard plastic material with the barbs. The elastic silicone sheath keeps the VenusGuard device in tight contact against the skin of the p-nis. The sheath is very thick, durable, and not easy to cut. The hard internal webbing is even more difficult to cut. The plastic is similar to the material of extremely cut-resistant products such as fishing lines. These plastics are reinforced to be abrasion proof and cut resistant.

It would be very difficult, and a high risk of majorly painful injury, for an assailant to attempt to remove the VenusGuard device from himself with a pair of scissors or pocket knife. The assailant will be in severe and debilitating pain, that will limit his ability to control delicate motor skills needed to conduct surgery on himself. This device can only properly be removed by a qualified clinician.

On the chance that the assailant would attempt to remove the device himself, it provides the woman ample time to escape or fight back, as she chooses.

The most likely response is that the assailant will be immobile, in pain, focused on their wound. Self removal is nearly impossible. If he tries to remove it, he will impale himself with the device, and/or he will most likely cut himself if using a tool.

VenusGuard devices can only be removed by a qualified clinician in a medical setting.

Have you done research on r-pists?

We have worked with clinical psychologists who have had patients that are survivors, and patients that are r-pists as well. Our founder, a medical doctor herself, has personally visited several prisons in South Africa and interviewed convicted r-pists. She was looking to understand their motivations for r-pe, and to see their reactions to VenusGuard. They were terrified when they were shown samples of VenusGuard devices.

Won’t the r-pist just become more v-olent once VenusGuard attaches to him?

Likely, no. The assailant will be incapacitated in pain. Movement of any kind will incur further injury to the assailant. Due to the severe pain inflicted by the device, the assailant will have difficulty performing even simple tasks like walking.

We have consulted with a clinical psychologist that has worked with both v-olent offenders and survivors of s-xual abuse. From the professional opinion of a psychologist:

‍ ‍“The act of r-pe is already a v-olent act. Anything that inflicts unexpected injury to the the r-pist, is an interruption of the crime. An assailant being captured within a VenusGuard device is most likely to functionally provide the woman with a few moments to escape.

Biologically speaking, when an organism is injured in such a manner, they are reacting to the injury in a primal manner. The attacker is figuring out what happened and tending to the significant wound to their genitalia. Their attention is likely taken off of the woman and re-directed to self care.”‍ ‍

‍ ‍We have also contacted convicted r-pists in prisons, and shown them VenusGuard devices. They explained that, “We commit r-pes because we know that they are easy to get away with. The charges are either not taken seriously by police, or judged lightly in sentencing. If I was caught by a VenusGuard device, it wouldn’t make sense to escalate the crime from r-pe to additional assault or murder charges, especially when evidence is already involved.”

We understand that v-olent offenders are not logical, and they do not all the offend in the same way. But we know that fighting back is not a bad idea. Based on results of interviews the United States FBI has conducted with r-pe survivors, 9 out of 10 survivors felt as though they faired better by resisting/fighting back, than how they would’ve by submitting.

‍ ‍

Can the r-pist turn a VenusGuard inside out and reinsert it back into the user?

No. A VenusGuard would not be visible or available to an assailant unless they commit a r-pe. If they penetrate, it would inevitably cause the device to be firmly and painfully stuck on their p-nis. The internal web of plastic ‘skeleton’ design, which holds the barbs of VG, makes reversal of the barbs impossible. This inner mechanism is made of extremely strong, abrasion-resistant and cut-resistant plastic. See the images above on this page.

What would happen if the victim is approached by multiple assailants?

From our research with r-pists in prison, they have responded that “After seeing a first r-pist caught [by a VenusGuard], the rest of the men in the group would probably be too concerned to do anything else, as they know at the very least one person will have to be convicted of the crime. The basis of a court case would have already been made, and I wouldn’t want to be a part of it.”

Will the r-pist have the right to charge you for bodily harm?

No. VenusGuard is a self defense mechanism. As the VG device does not cause any long term or lasting injury to the assailant, there is no legal basis to prevent its use or justification for claiming bodily harm.

Will the VenusGuard be visible to the r-pist?

No. The entire VenusGuard device is contained within the v-ginal canal and not visible externally.

How much will VenusGuard cost?

Our goal is to keep the price affordable for all women. We are still developing the creation process, but the price will be available on this website after fundraising and final testing has been done. We are looking for support from government organizations, charities, aid groups, and donations to help subsidize the cost to women who cannot afford them.

We ask of everyone to please donate to help women who desperately want access to VenusGuard as soon as possible regardless of cost. Hopefully one day, all women and people across the globe will have access to our product when they need it.

Is it possible to develop an allergic reaction from VenusGuard?

No. All materials are hypoallergenic and have undergone biocompatibility testing.

Is the VenusGuard lawful in all countries?

According to the legal guidance we have received, there is no legal grounds for preventing the use of VenusGuard devices. However, the laws of each country should be examined on a case by case basis.

How is DNA extracted from the VenusGuard device?

The DNA of the user will be all over the surface of the VenusGuard device. At the hospital, where the VenusGuard is removed from the assailant, the device is swabbed for DNA following normal hospital procedure. DNA would be stored for evidence as needed.

Is it possible for a woman to use VenusGuard frame a man?

This would be highly unlikely. This argument is commonly used against survivors of r-pe to begin with, and we will not let this preconception of r-pe culture infiltrate our mission. The use of VenusGuard for any such purpose would be physically ineffective. A person does not need to buy or use our device specifically to frame anyone. We are a very specific use self defense device.

VenusGuard is an opportunity for women to say no and have consequences for people who do not listen. It would not be logical in any capacity for someone with these intentions to choose our product to enact negative intentions upon an innocent person. Any scenario like this is highly improbable. VenusGuard would not change the frequency of these scenarios one way or the other.

Again, this argument is commonly used against survivors of r-pe to begin with, and we refuse to let this preconception of r-pe culture infiltrate our mission. Our product is aiding the fight against s-xual v-olence on women. We are not ignoring that there are women who commit crimes. However, this question is overlooking the proven and widely known statistic that we as a society are facing an epidemic of male v-olence upon women, and not the other way around.

We reiterate: if a person is to buy and use VenusGuard, they have bought it for the very intentional purpose of using to not consent to penetrative intercourse. VenusGuard as a self defense mechanism does not work for anything else but this. The likelihood of someone using our product for any other purpose is low because it would not physically make sense.

We want to make it clear that at VenusGuard, we support all survivors, and we are motivated to help stop v-olent crimes against all people.

How does one know when to insert VenusGuard? How can I predict r-pe?

As with avoiding any crime, all reasonable attempts should be made by individuals to avoid placing themselves in potentially dangerous situations. There is unfortunately no way to predict the occurrence of assault. Users should take the reasonable precaution to insert VenusGuard before they may potentially be in danger, as the user sees fit.

VenusGuard can be used whenever the user wants to use it. What our product offers an is opportunity to have extra peace of mind that justice could be served if something were to happen.

Won’t this insinuate that all women must wear VenusGuard?

No. VenusGuard is only for women and people who want to wear them. We are already living in a world where women are generally blamed for the v-olence enacted upon them by men. VenusGuard cannot make this any worse than the painstaking culture we already live in.

VenusGuard is an apparatus to be used by a female biology. Despite this, we know it is not and should not be a woman’s responsibility to defend herself from all possibilities of such a common crime. Interestingly though, as a concept, the more male assailants that know about VenusGuard’s growing popularity, the more offenders might just actually hesitate to offend.

What about survivors that aren’t women?

We want to make it clear that we are not overlooking any survivors in our work against s-xual v-olence. To men and others with s-xual trauma: we see and hear you, too. Statistics are only estimates of what we should assume to be a much higher number, considering difficulties in reporting such crimes. According to the CDC, 1 in 26 men report experiencing s-xual v-olence in their lifetime. Our product is designed for people with adult female anatomies, but we still want to make the world a better place for all survivors.

We are very aware that there are both female and male survivors of s-xual v-olence, and that women who offend exist, too. Potentially, some day our brand can be taken further, to new developments that may prevent any and all types of s-xual assault.

We will always include our support and understanding to any person regardless of their gender identity or the gender identity of an offender. Click here to explore trauma resources available to anyone, with a list of multiple resources for different audiences.

Why are you censoring words that shouldn’t be censored?

Our company has dealt with relentless and unwarranted censorship from social media platforms. Other companies are hesitant to sponsor us because they see our mission as controversial. Our company is nothing of the sort. This brand has a morally upright ethical code, and that code is to defend against an epidemic of s-xual abuse.

The only reason other business have not accepted partnerships promoting VenusGuard is due to their monetary concerns regarding their customer base, at the expense of their ethics. Concerns for a business social image is largely due to the insensitive and ignorant stigma against surviving r-pe, as well as a concern around making v-olent people uncomfortable. Although we try to understand other businesses concern for their brand’s commodification, our brand is verifiably righteous, and our product is proven trustworthy.

We don’t believe that words like r-pe and s-xual v-olence should be censored at all. These are words used in legal and medical terminology.

The reason we censor is to hopefully bypass censorship algorithms that have taken down our well-meaning posts about survivorship in the past. Nearly our entire campaign has to revolve around social media, since the corporate world is not yet willing to cosign on survivor’s justice for one reason or another. We hope to soon get to the point that we do not have to censor ourselves.

‍ ‍Working toward that would include acquiring donations, and building an email contact list support system of our own.

Please understand that we do not want to contribute to the stigma around r-pe survivorship — we are doing the best we possibly can to navigate a world that is already infected with it.

Does the VenusGuard need to be inserted by a qualified medical specialist?

No. It is inserted and removed by the person wearing the device; allowing freedom, privacy and comfort.

Will I be attached to the r-pist if I use VenusGuard?

No. When the r-pist withdraws the p-nis, the VenusGuard device will be firmly attached to him by the barbs and be withdrawn from the woman. The barbs cannot engage any part of the female anatomy.

What will happen if I forget that the VenusGuard is inserted?

We recommend that you keep the applicator removal device in a visible location, to serve as a reminder.

Is there a risk of toxic shock?

Unlike tampons, a VenusGuard is not made of absorbent material.  Absorbency is the main risk associated with TSS. Like a menstrual cup, silicone products are actually much safer for an internal anatomy than any absorbent products. The protective barrier will repel the woman’s body fluids, further reducing any chance of TSS.

Will using VenusGuard cause me to lose my virginity?

No. Virginity is a societal construct, and can have a different definition depending on who you ask. VenusGuard devices, like tampons, have nothing to do with the concept of virginity nor changing the concept of virginity.

Are governments subsidizing this product for users who cannot afford the product?

Unfortunately, not yet. Because of the social stigmas around r-pe and r-pe survivorship, our product has not been given the support it deserves. We still believe that the world can change in favor of women’s safety, regardless of entities that may try to prevent it. We are seeking support from charitable organizations and others who are interested in subsidizing the purchase.

Our ultimate goal is our products availability to people all across the globe, and even distribution to women who cannot afford it. If you would like to help us with subsidies or in distribution, please contact us for more information via our Contact Us page.

How can I help the VenusGuard mission?

We are currently in fundraising stages of our campaign to make our product available to the public. Signing up for a recurring donation is the most efficient way to get our product to the public as soon as possible.

Sharing our mission and our media is also extremely beneficial. Please sign up for our email list towards the bottom of the Our Mission page. This can help us bypass potential drawbacks if our accounts on social medias are censored.

Our social media links are at the very bottom of each page on this website. When you see us post, please share when you feel inclined. The more people that know, the more offenders might hesitate to offend. If you would like to help make social media content and volunteer as a brand ambassador, please contact us via our Contact Us page.
